About Linda Burnette

Linda Burnette of Hudson, Florida, was first elected to the VFW Veterans Village of  Fort McCoy Home Board at the Department Ladies Auxiliary Convention in June 2012.  In June of 2014 Linda was elected for a three year term for the Board and is currently serving as the Board Secretary.

Linda is a member of Old Fort Harrison Auxiliary #2473 in Clearwater, FL. She joined the Ladies Auxiliary under the eligibility of her father, Dewey Dean Allison, who served in the Army Air Corps from 1944-48.

She has served the Auxiliary in several capacities including Auxiliary, District and State President and 30 years as Auxiliary Treasurer. On the National level, she has held the positions of Soloist, Assistant Soloist, Assistant Guard, National District Council Member Area J and Director for the VFW National Home for Children program.

Linda retired in December 2010 from Honeywell Inc. where she was employed for nearly 30 years. Her last position at Honeywell before retiring was a Lead Project Office Administrator.

She enjoys quilting, cross-stitching, reading, singing and traveling in her spare time.  She is also Secretary/Treasurer for the Joint Veterans Committee at Bushnell National Cemetery, Treasurer for the Past District 21 Presidents Club and Secretary/Treasurer for the 1999-2000 Past Department Presidents Club. Linda is a former member of the Honeywell Toastmasters International, where she had earned her Advanced Competent Communicator-Silver Toastmaster and Competent Leader award.

Linda is a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Hudson.  Linda and her late husband Ron have five children, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
